Nexgard Spectra for dogs offers the most comprehensive protection against fleas, ticks, heartworms, and intestinal worms available in a single chew. According to a three-month Australian field study, 100% of owners reported that Nexgard Spectra was well received by their dogs. You can give it either with or without food, depending on your preference. Unlike some sprays, spot-on formulations and collars, Nexgard Spectra is not affected by bathing, swimming or shampooing.
Keeping Your Pets Flea-Free
Nexgard Spectra kills fleas quickly, keeping your dog healthy and your home flea-free. Fleas are more than just an annoying nuisance; they can cause skin problems, transmit diseases, and cause irritation to your dog. Although it's better to prevent fleas in the first place, Nexgard Spectra kills fleas fast and prevents them from infesting your house if your dog does acquire them.
Keep Ticks At Bay
You can help protect your dog from deadly paralysis ticks, bush ticks, and brown dog ticks with just one chew of Nexgard Spectra. Paralysis ticks poses the greatest threat to dogs because of the toxins they inject, which can lead to death if your dog is not protected. Large numbers of brown dog ticks can also cause life-threatening anaemia in dogs and can transmit other dangerous parasites like Babesia.
Heartworm disease is spread by mosquitoes, which are found throughout Australian mainland states. This infection can go undetected until damage is done and can be fatal when left untreated so prevention against this disease is important. Read more about Heartworm Disease
How does NexGard Spectra work and what is its active ingredient?
The formulation of NexGard Spectra includes afoxolaner, milbemycin oxime, and afoxolaner alone. They both function as neurotoxins that interfere with the transmission of impulses along parasites' nervous systems. As a result, the parasite is paralyzed and eventually dies.
When is NexGard Spectra used?
NexGard Spectra is provided orally to dogs once a month. It prevents fleas, ticks, and heartworms in dogs.
From what age can NexGard Spectra be used?
Puppies over 2kg in body weight and older than 8 weeks of age can use NexGard Spectra safely. Read more on Nexgard Spectra For Small Dogs
How quickly does NexGard Spectra work?
Fleas are killed within eight hours after NexGard Spectra is applied. NexGard Spectra has been demonstrated to kill 95% of Paralysis and Brown Dog ticks within 48 hours of application. Bush ticks was killed by 95% within 72 hours.
Is NexGard Spectra water fast?
As opposed to other oral medications, NexGard Spectra has no adverse effects when taken before or after swimming, bathing, or shampooing.
Is NexGard Spectra required to be taken with food?
Nexgard Spectra is a soft chewable that dogs can readily consume and is highly palatable. When administering Nexgard Spectra, the dog should chew it instead of swallowing it whole. Breaking up NexGard Spectra treats into pieces allows you to feed them to dogs who would not normally eat treats whole. Alternatively, NexGard Spectra can be mixed with dog food.
Can I use NexGard Spectra all year-round?
It is recommended to apply Nexgard Spectra every four weeks throughout the year as fleas and ticks are a year-round problem.
Is NexGard Spectra safe for pregnant or lactating animals?
