  • Provides treatment and control for flea allergy dermatitis.
  • Biting lice are controlled.

NOTE:

FRONTLINE PLUS contains an active ingredient called fipronil, which makes fleas hyperactive and therefore more visible before they die.

FAQs

How does Frontline Plus  work?

There are two active ingredients in Frontline Plus for Dogs: fipronil and (S)-methoprene. (S)-methoprene acts as an insect growth regulator (IGR) and prevents all flea stages (eggs, larvae, and pupae) from developing. With the dual action protection, your dog is protected against fleas and ticks at the same time.

From a single application, Frontline Plus quickly spreads throughout the dog and localizes in their hair, on the skin's surface and in their sebaceous glands. Even if the dog gets wet, these glands replenish Frontline Plus for Dogs onto the skin and coat, keeping it working. Upon coming into contact with a treated dog, fleas and ticks die quickly. It is not necessary for fleas and ticks to bite in order to die. To prevent fleas and ticks, Frontline Plus for Dogs should be applied once a month.

When using Frontline Plus for Dogs, do I need to use other flea and tick treatments?

No. Frontline Plus for Dogs does not require any other treatments when applied correctly and regularly.

Is it still necessary to treat my dog for fleas and ticks even during the winter months?

It's true, fleas have a lower chance of infecting your dog during the winter months, but climates can differ, allowing fleas to survive outdoors much longer during mild winters. Fleas can also thrive indoors thanks to warmer temperatures. Some species of ticks can be a problem year-round, with some species seeking hosts when the temperature is just above freezing. Therefore, protecting your dog all year round is crucial.

How can I tell if my dog has fleas?

The visible presence of fleas on your dog or in your home is not the only indication your dog may have fleas. Other indications include itching, scratching, licking, nibbling and excessive grooming. Your dog's skin, bedding, or furniture may also be covered with small dark red or black spots. Read our article, 5 Common Causes of Itching in Pets.

Why does it matter to choose the right pack size based on my dog’s weight?

You want your dog to receive the most effective dose for which the product has been shown to be effective, so make sure you use the correct pack size.

Is it okay for my dog to get wet after applying Frontline Plus for Dogs?

It is important that your dog is dry when Frontline Plus for Dogs is applied and remains dry for 24 hours afterward.

How long does it take for Frontline Plus for Dogs to work?
